About Us
NWGA
Nassau Women's Golf Association
This is NWGA's 50th year, and we have matured into a vital part of competitive golf in Nassau County. We offer women with handicaps up to 36 the opportunity to compete as do the lower handicapped players in MET and Cross County. That is not to say that lower handicapped players do not take part in our tournaments. Approximately 1/3 of our membership have handicaps below 20. Our tournaments are played in three or four flights. Competitive golf for everyone with good sportsmanship, fun, and prizes exists for each level of competition, with prize certificates redeemable at any member pro shop.
We are a golfing group. We run tournaments at 25 member clubs. The ability of NWGA members to play with friends from any club belonging to our organization at our tournaments five times for the $65 NWGA membership fee is quite a bargain! How often have you been able to play with friends from three different clubs, at a completely different club for the four of you? Within NWGA you have the opportunity five times a year - in April, May, September and early and late October. If you choose, you may sign up as a single, and meet some very nice golfers that day. Our closing tournament for the year is somewhat of a party - a 4 woman best ball, or some similar format, played as a shotgun, with lunch following.
Situations change, including club membership, participation and handicaps. You or your club may or may not be interested in our organization at this time, but if you would like more information, please contact  us.
